We have found that the prices of new power tools here are often better than we could get in the US. Just saying.....
I find that interesting. A guy who does work for me saw a Ryobi eight-tool combination pack that I have. He asked how much it was. I did the currency conversion and told him. He said that two or three tools in the kit would cost him that much or more at Home Depot in Mexico.
I did a quick check online just now. A four-tool combo kit in the US:

That's at Home Depot. Having made our living on eBay, we are super shoppers. Do an online search. Just put in the item, not a store name and see what you get.
We have had to replace a couple of our power tools that we brought with us, and the prices here, on line, sometimes shipped from China, were much better than in the US.

Sorry, my misunderstanding. When you said,

I thought you meant “here” as in going to a store in Zihuatanejo or Lazaro or Morelia or somewhere.
I guess that as Americans pay for Trump’s tariff war with China and others it will increasingly be the case that prices for imported goods will lower outside of the US.

I brought in less than US$500 of battery powered tools without duty.
Carefully check the permissions and restrictions regarding the batteries though. They are expensive to buy at a store in Mexico and I have found it very difficult to get them delivered.
