CelebraZIHón del Maíz
¡Feliz Día Nacional del Maíz!
"Sin maíz, no hay país."
Sunday night's rain cooled down the temperatures and made for perfect sleeping weather. Monday was a bright and sunny day, but the absence of visitors left the beaches and streets mostly empty.
I was hoping for another rainy evening to cool down the hot cement that elevates the ambient temperature in most of Zihuatanejo, but it looks like the storms to our east have petered out before reaching us. They certainly were pretty to watch from the pier this evening.
Our favorite waterfront restaurant La Porteña has closed for vacation until October 17. They certainly deserve it.
It sure looks like we're in for some rainy weather later on this week and into next weekend as another big swirly thing takes shape off Mexico's southern coast. It could even turn into something nasty. Keeping fingers crossed it's just a little rainstorm and nothing more.
An excellent way to enjoy our coastal region is from the ocean with its majestic views of the mountains. For your adventure on our local waters, I highly recommend the services of Zihuatanejo Ixtapa Charters. They have vessels and tours for all occasions. Take your pick and enjoy an unforgettable day on the ocean in our paradise.
