Una Tormenta en la DistanZIHa
This Monday morning wasn't as cool as previous mornings, but we still slept quite comfortably with our windows open and a fan on low. It got cool enough to sleep under the sheets. That's perfect for us!
There weren't as many fishermen along the downtown waterfront this morning, but I expect they'll be back on Tuesday. Los lunes ni las gallinas ponen.
Guests at the Hotel Emporio in Ixtapa had to be relocated in other hotels because Emporio doesn't want to do the right thing and pay their workers what they deserve, including splitting tips correctly and paying benefits that their workers are due. Too bad. They'll only lose more money and their reputation the longer they hold out.
The peregrinaciones guadalupanas continue. Last night I heard a couple of explosions from skyrockets, but this Monday evening I haven't heard any. This Thursday will be the big night at our two main churches as well as at the Basilica de Guadalupe in Tepeyac.
Saw lightning and storm clouds this evening towards the sierra of Petatlán. A beautiful sight, to be sure! If we're lucky we might get a few drops of rain.
For a totally relaxing B&B lodging overlooking the jungle in La Ropa, I highly recommend a hidden gem called Casa Arcoíris. The view of the sunset over the treetops from their pool is breathtaking, and the peace and quiet will relieve you of any stress. Five comfortable suites with air conditioning, TV, and Wi-Fi access at this LGBTQ-friendly lodging make it somewhat exclusive and definitely enchanting. Mention ZihuaRob's and get a discount.
