Hey All,
I know this has been discussed but I keep hearing varying reports. I arrive tomorrow!!!! yay!!
Will officials let me bring both a mini iPad and laptop plus phone...I thought I did this last year without being fined...but...I need the laptop but the iPad isn't necessary.
Any suggestions. Thank you

Here's what the Mexican government says: https://consulmex.sre.gob.mx/montreal/index.php/en/foreigners/services-foreigners/407-what-objects-can-i-bring-in-my-luggage-to-mexico
It looks like the iPad falls under the category of "three cellphones or other wireless devices", so you can bring the cellphone, the iPad and the laptop.

AND.... It's not a "fine." It is a charge of import duty.

Rather nit picky of you!
OK import duty or fine neither of which I feel like paying for bringing my 6 year old iPad into the country.
But thanks for the correct word.

I am curious about this question too. What if they declare that an iPad is a “portable computing device”, of which you are only allowed one (“one laptop, notebook, omnibook or other portable computing device”)?
This article from Forbes warns of this issue:

Hi thawed,
I arrived yesterday with iPad, laptop and cellphone and was asked a few questions by
a friendly customs guy and allowed to go.
he asked about the laptop but was only interested in purpose of visit and was I importing alcohol tobacco etc..
I would heed Rob's interpretation of the Mexican government rather than Forbes magazine as I would guess that Rob's is more current?
Ive only been here less than 24 hours and already feeling the calm and serenity of this place. I think the past year has caused most of us an over all generalized anxiety...
went for a walk after dinner last night and felt like I could breathe again. the phrases "Everything is going to be ok" and "there is nothing to fear but fear itself."
Bob Marley and FDR....
Thank you again Rob...you were right as usual. Nothing like facts to save the day from worry.

You ARE being nit picky… obviously not a believer in poetic license.
I know the words to three little birds. Just didn’t feel like writing it verbatim
You should perhaps form a club ????

... until facts become whatever the Orange Mussolini and his Merry Band of Thieves, Cons, and Murderers say they are. If you haven't yet, please read Animal Farm and 1984.

Why bring Trump into a lighted hearted and fun banter.
And yes I’ve read both those books years ago. May I suggest more currrent thoughts from an author and an historian if you haven’t already read them.
Atwood’s A Handmaid’s tale and Harari’s Sapiens as well as 21 lessons for the 21 century.
Harari is brilliant, and as much as I would like to I can’t disagree with him.
Historians tend to see the macrocosm .
However I am in my beloved Zihua now and shutting down all my social media except texts from friends.
Intention is to commune with pelicans, listen to the meditative ocean waves, admire the ballerina palms and in general chill….

A wonderous bird is the pelican
His beak can hold more than his bellican
He can hold in his beak
Enough food for a week
But I’m darned if I know how the helican.

Exactly!
And since you knew, here’s a bonus Ogden Nash
A crusader's wife slipped from the garrison,
And had an affair with a Saracen;
She was not over-sexed,
Or jealous or vexed,
She just wanted to make a comparison.

Two of my favourite poets. Plus their other work.
Clever nonsense always a treat! The world needs more of these rhyming couplets
Limericks I think the Irish called them.
Thank you.
