According to our cifras alegres supplied by the state's tourism office, our local hotels weren't actually 100% full this Friday. Something I find somewhat surprising, but it also serves to argue against increased growth, because the local beaches were overflowing today, and there was no room for any more visitors. Crowds were everywhere. Las Gatas had to stop accepting visitors today. Don't know about La Isla. If only we had real newspapers with real reporters...

This morning wasn't quite as cool as yesterday, but it was still cool enough overnight to have to sleep under the sheets. There were rain clouds visible in the sierra in the distance to the south, but none here, though there's a chance of rain in the coming days.

The state and municipal governments are announcing a massive fireworks display for New year's. I'm sure this thrills many of our visitors as well as a few locals, but I believe many of us who live here are disappointed. The government had banned fireworks for the Guadalupanos and for Christmas celebrations, but apparently they're fine when politicians want to spend millions of our tax pesos putting on a big show. Our so-called authorities are ignoring the problems the explosions cause for wild and domestic animals as well as the anxiety and bother they cause many citizens and residents.

Did I mention that there are a lot of people here? WOW!
