We enjoyed another cool and lovely morning this Monday that began with a cloudless sky. Around midday I spotted some cumulus clouds far to the south in the sierra. The beaches again filled up quickly. I could see from my rooftop that La Ropa was crowded. Las Gatas looked like it was overflowing. Surprisingly, even with Ixtapa's all-included hotels reporting above 80% occupancy, there were NO people in Ixtapa's shopping centers today. Looked like a ghost town. So sad to see, even sadder to see this problem continue going ignored by the local government who simply thinks the shopping district needs new cement. I guess if I owned a cement company that would be my response to every local problem, too.

This evening until 9PM or so there's a terrific salsa band playing for tips in Plaza del Artista. People are dancing all over the place! Smiles everywhere. This is the Zihuatanejo we love so much!

Still no waves, but there's a nice breeze most mornings. This afternoon a lot of haze blew in, not pretty, but it made for quite a colorful sunset.

For those of you at Playa Blanca, you're going to get your own official fireworks displays for New Year's. Aren't you thrilled? Maybe they'll chase aways those pesky whales you've been enjoying seeing jumping and spouting all over the place with their new babies. Many local families, pet owners, parents of autistic children, and nature lovers keep pleading with the local government to use drones instead of fireworks, but our pleas keep falling on deaf ears.
