The last day of the year in Zihuatanejo was another of our picture-postcard-perfect days. Nice and cool this Wednesday morning. There wasn't a cloud in the sky all day, but a nice breeze kept beachgoers cool throughout much of the day. The ocean was glass calm in the morning while the fishing boats were racing around trying to find schools of fish. I could see paddleboarders across the bay. Was that you Jane and Ray? Surfers will be hard-pressed to find any rideable waves, but they could be seen making an effort on the webcam at La Saladita.

There aren't near as many cruisers in the bay this year as in years past. Perhaps more will show up after the holidays.

All our local beaches were again overflowing today. Isla Ixtapa was so crowded that one of the small island deer took off swimming to get away from the crowds. It was filmed swimming among the boats in front of Playa Varadero. I hope it made it to safety.

Lupita and I wish everyone a safe and enjoyable New Year's celebration. Please be careful on the roads if you have to drive somewhere. We're fortunate not to need a vehicle for most of our needs, and we're quite content with everything we can do within walking distance of our home.

Don't forget the 12 grapes at midnight tonight!

¡MUCHAS FELICIDADES Y PRÓSPERO AÑO A TODOS!

[image]If you enjoy spectacular views and balmy breezes, you'll LOVE La Casa Roja on Cerro El Almacén with two comfortable suites. The upstairs has 2 bedrooms with a king-size and twin beds, full kitchen, private bath, and 2 terraces. The lower level also has 2 bedrooms with a king-size and twin beds, full kitchen, 2 baths, and a terrace. A peaceful place within easy walking distance of downtown and nearby restaurants.
