This Monday morning was the first morning in the past few weeks that the beach wasn't full of people at dawn. It was actually empty except for a few fishermen, people exercising, and beach cleaners. It filled up later with people, but the crowds have certainly dispersed since just a few days ago. Even the waterfront was relatively empty compared to last night and previous days. The first evening in quite a while we weren't having to push our way through crowds to take a stroll.

Christmas decorations are finally coming down, thank goodness, but they left all the new lights on the amate tree on the beach in front of Plaza del Artista. Bummer. Beaches should be dark at night, especially beaches where sea turtles lay eggs and hatch.

The renovation of the Mercado Municipal that will soon be getting underway means all the vendors have to move to a space in the parking lot out back until the construction ends. I hope they don't lose so much business they can't reopen, and also that they don't have their merchandise stolen since they'll be unable to lock it up behind metal curtains as they currently do. Never mind the damage the weather could also cause them.

The chance of rain has disappeared from some forecasts while remaining on others. I'm not giving up hope yet. Might have to go do a rain dance on my rooftop. ;-)

If you don't have your Rosca de Reyes already, good luck finding one this Tuesday for Día de los Reyes Magos. They'll sell out fast
