The arrival of sets of small waves surprised us Thursday night and this Friday morning. The first night in many weeks when the sound of waves was more than just a feint swish on the sand. Nothing too loud, but nothing we had to strain to hear, either. Absolutely perfect for sleeping to. The rhythm of Zihuatanejo's bay is something that, once you've become used to it, you miss it when you can't hear it. It becomes part of one's biorhythm.

This Friday a light wind has been predominantly from the south-southwest, bringing warm humid tropical air our way. Similar to our summertime weather. Oddly, we had a similar spate of weather last year around this time of year. But this is not our normal weather pattern for this time of year. And our ocean water temperature is also a bit warmer than normal, currently at 28.6°C. Once it gets under 28°C many of us consider it nipper. B-)

This Friday evening there's a wonderful Fandango Cultural event in Plaza del Artista. Folkloric singing by a group from Tixtla, Guerrero, and wonderful dancing on tarimas by talented young dancers. So romantic and beautiful.

There are more events like this coming up next month. I try to share info as it becomes available, so keep an eye on my Community Notes & Events page. You can also follow me on Facebook.

Don't forget to visit "Las Iguanas Bazar" in La Ropa next to Casa Tucanes this Saturday and Sunday from 9 A.M. to 3 P.M. where you'll find a fun time, the wonderful works of local artisans and merchants, and lots of sustainable products.

Also, the Eco-Tianguis "Sanka" happens every Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until 1:40 p.m. in the small plaza in front of the Vicente Guerrero school, across the street from the Museo Arqueológico de la Costa Grande in downtown Zihuatanejo by the waterfront where La Boquita canal runs into the bay. Besides wonderful handcrafts, they feature a variety of homegrown produce, fresh foods including pastries, breads and tamales, fresh coffee, juices and mezcal.

[image]Villas Troncones on Troncones Beach is a lovely lodging away from the crowds with the beach out your front door and where the night sky can still be appreciated. Ten villas featuring from 1 to 5 bedrooms surrounding a pool. All villas have ceiling fans, A/C and kitchens. Meals are available prepared on property. Located within easy walking distance of other restaurants, convenience stores and the village. They still have availability for the upcoming Christmas vacation season! (click to enlarge photo)
