Man, that arctic air must've affected our local temperatures Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. It felt like it was 19°C here this morning. My teeth were almost chattering as I kept warm under a light sheet with the windows open and the fan on low. The sound of the small surf barely noticeable.
Visitors from northern climes currently predominate our tourism scene. Many were out early this morning getting exercise and enjoying local coffee. I still find it odd to hear them say "mornin" instead of buenos días, but it's the thought that counts.
The high winds barreling through the isthmus of Tehuantepec continue causing a backflow of southerly tropical breezes in our region of the Costa Grande. It's actually cooler in Huatulco than it is here even though it's much further south. Rain clouds can still be seen in the sierra and to our south, and there's a high probability of rain for us this coming weekend. Keep your wet weather sandals handy.
We enjoyed a nice light breeze under clear skies this Wednesday. The surfing isn't great, but it continues to improve with southerly swells of just under a meter in height. Algo es algo.
The cruise ship Amadeus arrives this Thursday morning at 7AM. So the pier and the waterfront may be a little crowded tomorrow, but it shouldn't affect anyone's jueves pozolero.
