My whole life has been on Facebook for the last 12 years. I got rid of Twitter when mr. Musk got his tiny hands on it. Oh and for those people who got in touch with me on Zih lets chat I lost that also.

My estranged Christo-fascist brother posted truly awful stuff on FB and was (deservedly) banned. He got around the ban with a new email address and login name which consists of his first and middle names. He's back to posting his truly awful stuff again.
If you decide to create a new FB identity, I recommend being an observer and keeping a low profile for awhile.

What reason did Facebook give you? Did you try to appeal or get a review? Their AI is extremely wonky. If you ask for a review you'll probably get back on.

I was told that Windows Defender has disabled my facebook account because it determined that I had clicked on a virus which is interesting as I was out of town for 4 days with no access to Facebook.
I did appeal and now Im banned for life. Never told me what I had done wrong, just went against community standards. Something is not right. When I got a one week suspension, I appealed that but that didn't work. Then today I appealed a decision that had me restricted on FB marketplace until Feb 14th. I appealed that because I never even used that. So now I'm banned and so upset. This also does not let me use Zih lets chat.

Use a different e-mail address and a variation of your name to sign up for a new account. Your friends can help spread the word for how to find you.

Be of good cheer. To me, this seems like a God send for you. You can explain to people that you are banned from Faceplant. "Sorry. I can't keep up with your daily postings of what you had for lunch today on Faceplant anymore. They banned me." You are free from that tedious waste of your precious time on this Earth. Congratulations!
If indeed you are distraught and really want to return to that social experiment in how to bitterly divide our country for fun and profit, the suggestions for how to start again seem plausible. You might want to use a VPN to hide your IP address along with the other suggestions. (IP = Internet Protocol.)
Thanhks Padrino. I did try another new Gmail account and then tried to join Fb with that BUT no go. Facial Recognition etc. Someone suggested using another computer so I might try that next. My life for the last 18 years has been Fb as I connect with everyone in my life and yes I post pictures of my food and other things of interest to me but politics since 2015 have been my focus. I can't be silent about what has happened to my country.
You could try making a guest account and going to a friend's wifi with a new email. A newly made guest account wouldn't have any of Meta's data (Insta, FB etc) on it. Facial Rec is a tough one if they really use that and you want to use your face. Maybe try those filters and make you look like a cat 
You probably need to use a VPN. Use a different browser. Clear your cookies. (None of these may work) Bottom line is that FB needs to think you are brand new with no evidence of the identity that got you thrown out.

Do you believe that Faceplant is a good venue for discussing the current political landscape? Personally, it appears they are less interested in creating a trusted forum for debating important issues and more interested in stirring up the anger and hatred that is tearing the United States apart. It seems that they believe that polarization is good for increasing their earnings, democracy be damned.

To be sure, there are those that will never reflect upon their beliefs. "Don't confuse me with the facts!" However, I respectfully disagree that all political discourse is useless. One of the best tools to help people self reflect and question their assumptions is simply asking questions. It also helps the questioner. In the book, The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, one of the habits is "Seek first to understand, then to be understood." It is worth the effort, in my humble opinion.
There are some countries that have mandatory military service. If I were king, emperor, etc., I would dictact mandatory participation in a debate team. I look back on my time a million years ago in our debate team and just marvel at how much it has helped me in life. We were required to argue one side of an issue. And then the two teams would swap sides and argue the other side.
I guess we could just ask people to listen to Joni Mitchell's Both Sides Now, eh?

Facebook is clearly targeting people based on their political opinions and postings. It seems to have nothing to do with right or wrong. If they truly care, they would be more concerned about all the fake accounts posting nonsense...
You’re making an assumption that content is actually monitored by people. It’s monitored by algorithms. I suspect most if not all of the initial bans never involve a human. Individually they don’t care, anymore that Toyota would care about a wheel falling of your individual car. Should wheels start falling of 10% of Toyotas they might care. I think web hosts on the net are the same, it’s impossible to care for the individual, nd probably pretty hard to care for the aggregate.

AI flags it and a person in a call center type place reviews it. My GF's son and Mother works for one. Tik-tok, Insta, Linked-in, Snap all contract out it to those places all over the world. Also the larger Sites that have comment sections.

Correct! I also worked for one and have friends currently working there! Timmac is correct that algorithms monitor Facebook but what is flagged goes to an actual person. As well, the algorithms is written in a very specific way to target what they want out.
There must be thousands, if not tens of thousands,of actual people, all with varied skills. There is so much content to monitor.
