The local beaches filled up early again this Saturday morning even though it was a bit cool out. For folks from El Bajío region, it feels toasty here. There were still folks on the beach having a good time after sunset, but the beach looked quite clean to me. It looks like people are picking up after themselves. My how times have changed.

A nice breeze for much of the day helped keep temperatures mild even though the sun shined ferociously in a cloudless sky. In the shade it was quite comfortable.

It's barely February and the wildfires are already beginning. It's going to be a long, smoky dry season.

The Paseo del Pescador and the pier were lively places to be this evening, if you like being in the middle of crowds. Foreigners were "tasting" the mezcal at the dozens of stands selling mezcal along the waterfront and at La Cancha. Locals were tasting the sweets and different delicious foods. An amazing variety of wonderful recipes from every corner of our state. There were also arts and crafts for sale including beautiful hand-embroidered clothing like my wife used to sell at her boutique. It will all be here again this Sunday from 1PM until 11PM, but it should be a little less crowded since most of our national visitors will be on their way home by Sunday evening.

Also, don't forget to visit "Las Iguanas Bazar" in La Ropa next to Casa Tucanes this Sunday from 9 A.M. to 3 P.M. where you'll find a fun time, the wonderful works of local artisans and merchants, and lots of sustainable products.

[image]For a totally relaxing Bed & Breakfast lodging overlooking the remaining jungle in La Ropa, I highly recommend a hidden gem called Casa Arcoíris. The view of the sunset over the treetops from their pool is breathtaking, and the peace and quiet will relieve you of any stress. Five comfortable suites with air conditioning, TV, and Wi-Fi access at this LGBTQ-friendly lodging make it somewhat exclusive and definitely enchanting. Mention ZihuaRob's and get a discount. La estatua que representa la región de Acapulco adorna unas rocas en la bahía mientras dos pescadores trabajan durante la mañana en la bahía de Zihuatanejo.
