This Wednesday visitors and residents in Zihuatanejo awoke to another chilly morning with the morning temperature at about 19°C, a tad less chilly than previous days. There was even a bit of fog in the area. Thankfully, the sun rises fast and warms things up quickly at our latitude. But we keep finding ourselves sleeping a bit later than normal due to the morning chill. Good snuggling weather. ;-)

The mar de fondo continues, and the surfers are loving it. I could see them this afternoon at Playa Las Gatas riding the waves at Punta del Rey in front of Owen's old place. The pier at Playa Linda was closed, so water taxis operated off the beach at Playa Quieta where the original pier was. The pier at Playa Linda was a terrible idea that has only been an endless money pit. I believe it's been "remodeled" 4 times now, and it's still about to fall into the ocean and is unusable whenever there are large waves.

Enjoy your jueves pozolero!

This Friday the Carnaval Zihuatanejo-Ixtapa 2026 officially begins. Carnaval royalty will receive their crowns at the Cancha Municipal this Friday at 7PM. And the music will begin at the same time on the grounds of Laguna Las Salinas where the fairs usually set up. There will be some favorite national bands including one of my favorites Los Karkiks. Come enjoy the music and have a good time among our warm and wonderful people.
