Making Another Day In Paradise Better

The same holds true for animals.

Several organizations in the Zihuatanejo-Troncones area work every day to reduce the number of unwanted animals through spay/neuter campaigns and to improve the lives of neglected, abused, and stray animals. This takes thousands of hours of work and, of course, money.

Here comes the good news.

You can help by enjoying another day (or three) in paradise attending fun events at MexiLeones HumAnimal Fest on March 20, 21, and 22. And when I say fun, I mean there is something for everyone. Principal organizer Thalia Muñoz, a founder of Surfers For Strays, has put together events for children, for families, and for adults, including extraordinary musical talent. I’m talking Grammy Award level talent.

The starting event, for children and families, will be a Meet and Greet with puppies from Surfers For Strays on Friday, March 20 at 2:30 p.m. at Quattro Cafe in Troncones. This is followed by music from Los Años Verdes at 4:00 p.m.

Then comes an intimate sunset performance by Grammy Award winner Gabriela Quintero and Friends at 6:00 p.m. The evening ends with music from Zocato Blues Band. These should not be missed.

On Saturday the festivities move to Saladita with a kids surf event at 8:00 a.m., kids and family yoga at 2:30 p.m., and skate and surf events at 3:30 p.m. The evening starts with music by Skalibar at 7:00 p.m. and the headliner recording artists Los Leones Negros from Queretero.

Sunday is all-Zihuatanejo with family events starting at 3:30 p.m. at the Extreme Skate Park, then a final concert by Los Leones Negros at the same location.
