We didn't get to sleep until late due to hammering and work going on in Plaza del Artista until the wee hours. Nevertheless, the weather was comfortable enough for sleeping with the fan on medium, but there was nothing cool or refreshing in the air after sunup. It was warm and humid early this morning.

There's actually a good chance it will rain this Monday, so get your rain gear ready. It's not going to do any good to all the cushions, decorations and books the municipal government has spent so much time setting up in Plaza del Artista.

Zihuatanejo lost a beloved son today. Ángel Gómez Bravo, owner of Pizzas Locas and husband of Edith Ibarra Rivera, one of the daughters of the founders of La Perla. They've been friends and good neighbors of ours for decades. Our hearts go out to their family and friends. He will be dearly missed.

Be sure to visit the Eco-Tianguis "Sanka" that happens every Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until 1:40 p.m. in the small plaza in front of the Vicente Guerrero school, across the street from the Museo Arqueológico de la Costa Grande in downtown Zihuatanejo by the waterfront where La Boquita canal runs into the bay. Besides wonderful handcrafts, they feature a variety of homegrown produce, fresh foods including pastries, breads and tamales, fresh coffee, juices and mezcal.

El ayuntamiento tiene tres días trabajando en Plaza del Artista solo para prepararla para la Feria del Libro de Zihuatanejo. Lástima que no le echan tanto esfuerzo para mejorar la seguridad pública.
