The overnight temperatures sure aren't what they normally are for this time of year. Usually we continue enjoying cool mornings until the first week or so in May. No one seems able to recall it raining here in April. Not even the historical weather records I've checked. Zero precipitation for April as far back as they go. It didn't rain here today, but rains continue nearby in the region, and a slight chance of rain remains in the local forecast.

Locally swells reached almost 2 meters this Wednesday, but they'll be diminishing to less than a meter in the next few days. There weren't hardly any people at the downtown beach today, and the waterfront walkway was mostly empty except for a basketball game at La Cancha. There was a musical event at Plaza del Artista this afternoon, but most of the people who attended were employees of the municipal government. The waterfront restaurants were mostly empty: one table was the norm at several of them. Only La Porteña had several tables of diners.

Mangos are in season, and we've been having them for breakfast almost daily. In licuados, raw and in cereal. Mmmmmmmmm! One of the best things about living in Guerrero is we have some of the best mangos in the world.

This Wednesday, April 22 is the 172nd anniversary of the death of my wife's ancestor don Nicolás Bravo who was president of Mexico 3 times in the early years after independence from Spain.

[image]If you're a fan of mouth-watering recipes, one of the best reasons for visiting Ixtapa is to go to Deborah's Restaurant. Whether for breakfast, lunch or dinner, everything we've ever eaten there has been prepared to perfection and the service has always been excellent. Deborah also makes some of the best desserts around, so save room when you go.
