Monday night was quite comfortable sleeping weather, and while Tuesday morning wasn't exactly cool, it was mild enough to be very pleasant for a morning stroll and doing chores.

Not hardly a tourist to be found in Zihuatanejo today except at Playa Las Gatas and at the hotels in Ixtapa where they seem never leave to cross the street to make any purchases or enjoy any of the many fine restaurants. On the waterfront in Zihuatanejo the restaurants sat empty most of the day, and many shopkeepers closed early, if they even bothered to open. A few diners were out this evening, but most appeared to be locals with a few middle-to-upper-class visitors among them. If more flights were more affordable we'd likely have many more such visitors.

Locally the sea temperature is around 30°C, but not far off our coast it's around 32°C, the warmest in all of the Pacific Ocean. Our local temperatures remain in the mid-30's C during the day, but today we had a nice breeze that made it seem quite pleasant to sit in a hammock in the shade and enjoy the scenery. Darker patches of water were visible in the bay today along with some waves around a meter high. Hopefully we won't have a red tide event.

Rainclouds were again visible in the sierra to our east this afternoon. Like the puppy dog said after he got his tail caught in the door: it won't be long now. ;-)

Waves at the local surf spots remain around a meter to a meter and a half, and good for surfing. They're expected to pick up to around 2 meters by this coming Sunday and Monday.

They share a large palapa that functions as a living area with a bar and kitchen in front of a pool overlooking the beach. The perfect lodging for a perfect vacation. (click to enlarge photo)
