The rain that was forecast for the wee hours of Sunday morning never appeared, and we awoke to another day of absolutely picture-postcard-perfect weather in Zihuatanejo, though it got a bit on the warm side this afternoon with temps around 36°C. It was still warm this evening when we strolled to the municipal pier, which remains in darkness after sunset thanks to the continued negligence of Zihuatanejo's municipal government and their unwanted vanity project.

This Sunday evening there's a huge storm cloud passing over our region, but so far nothing. No sprinkles. Nada. Hoping for a nice light rain with no wind.

Congratulations to Canada for being the first team to qualify for the next round of the Mundial, what we call the octavos, with their win over South Africa this Sunday, the only match that was played today.

Quite a few visitors were on the downtown beach today having a wonderful time, some with their furry family members, and enjoying the beach without being hassled by government workers over their pets, their coolers or their music. I didn't see anyone who was bothered by anything that anyone else was doing. Just pure happiness. That's how beaches are supposed to be.
