Summer Vacay

I am coming to Zihua on July 10 for the first time during my summer. Are there some things that I need to be more aware of at this time of year than during my regular visits which occur sometime between December-March?

A local family graciously requested me to become a Padrino to one of their sons thirteen years ago. There is another celebration in the middle of July and that is the reason for my visit. As a gift, I am bringing him a tablet for school. If I unbox this tech, what are the chances of bringing the gift tablet, my own tablet and an iphone without paying duty?

I still plan on doing the things I do when I visit during our winter in Canada. Playing pickleball, fly fishing and supporting local businesses.

In my fifteen years of coming to Zihua, it has never rained when I have been here! I imagine things will be different.

One tablet per person is allowed without being taxed. Your cell phone is fine.

This is what the Mexican government says you can bring to Mexico as an airplane passenger:

Bring your rain sandals. ;-)

I have never had a problem bringing two iPads in through MEX. I’m fortunate to not have had to deal with aduana at ZIH for about five years. I don’t mind paying reasonably. But when a friend paid more than the purchase price to bring me an Apple TV… or when I had to pay duty on a 10 year old blender, I decided to avoid aduana at ZIH if at all possible.

You will find it a bit different in the summer. A bit slower, a bit warmer, and SO GREEN!! Do be aware of the heat. Feel the ocean, it's HOT!

Enjoy your visit and thanks for your sponsorship of the young one.
