Sweltering weather continues, and the rain continues eluding us. Wednesday morning we awoke to a temperature of 27°C. Not exactly the refreshing morning weather we count on for getting morning chores done before the heat of the day. Clouds danced around in the sierra, and when a huge rainstorm appeared imminent, nothing happened. We could see it raining on Cerro Viejo, but not a drop reached us downtown. Chances are looking better for rain this coming weekend. La Canícula continues.

For summer vacation season it sure is quiet. A few people on the beaches, but the downtown shops and restaurants saw little business. Same in Ixtapa. It seems the more cement gets poured, the fewer visitors with spending money we get.

Over two months since the pier has been in the dark at night. A damn shame. And for many eateries, vendors and shops at the Mercado Municipal it's been over 6 months since they've been in the streets after being promised it would only take a couple of months to remodel their section of the market. Again, a damn shame, and a lack of respect by the municipal government for the working people and our visitors.

Swells are around 2 meters high and predicted to get smaller in the coming days until around July 14-15 when they're predicted to reach over 3 meters! Great for surfers, but not good for beachfront properties or weak swimmers. Waves that big could knock down the Playa Linda pier, it's in such poor shape.

:futbol: Fútbol fever is waning, but man oh man are Mexicans proud of their role hosting the World Cup and all the great compliments we're getting from so many visitors and players. It's up to Argentina to keep the Cup here in America!

[image]Playa Blanca is a place that still enjoys much peace and tranquility, a place where the stars still appear clearly in the evening skies and where whales and dolphins can be seen spouting and breaching from the shore. El Manantial is an affordable vacation lodging located right on the beach at Playa Blanca offering two one-bedroom bungalows and two houses, one with three bedrooms and the other with six, each with A/C and wi-fi internet, and access to a common pool and a beachfront lounge area.
