Every contractor what’s to show off their project. At least everyone can see and say, wow this is gonna be nice.

Not much to be proud of. They destroyed a perfectly good building and a lovely plaza with gardens, moved a wall a few inches, built a hill that cuts down on open space for public events, which was supposed to be the original intent: to increase the space for public events. They placed the ZIHUA letters in a terrible spot that not only blocks the view, but if people fall posing on it they could get killed falling on the rocks. They put a small amphitheater across from the letters meaning that any public event will either have people walking in front of it to reach the pier or else they'll have to take a long detour around the back, like before, in an area that will surely be used for relieving oneself, same as before. Now they're planting Ceiba trees on the hill, which will require enormous amounts of water to keep anything alive on it. There are no irrigation systems, and it looks like all the drainage is expected to run towards the pier as well as its entrance by the plaza. A major OOPS. And I expect several of the old trees there to die from the damage caused to their roots along with having plastic put down right up to the trees that will prevent any water from reaching any roots left on one side of them. It's a series of bad planning, all designed to pour cement and use the workers and materials of a certain construction company. That's why there are no public drawings available. While there will surely be "a view" from the hill, the views that have been lost negate any new view from 4 or 5 meters high. It's an insult to the people who use the pier on a daily basis as well as to our longtime visitors who like Zihuatanejo's quaintness and familiar scenery.

Oh, and it looks like the extension of the rocks they placed around the entire perimeter has affected the beach in front of the Sector Naval, causing the loss of several meters of beach, similar to the same kind of phuqup they caused at La Ropa with the Capricho del Rey project. Maybe you've seen what happened to the beach in front of El Marlín and Rossy's? It's all rocks now.

And taxpaying locals like me can't help but think how much better all that money could've been spent on something we actually need, like a hospital.
