Monday morning was another refreshing morning after a perfect night for sleeping. The day remained partly cloudy with mild temperatures. Overnight rains were light, and they washed everything clean. But there were almost no visitors around today. The few that were mostly went to Playa Las Gatas, having to walk through the quite slippery and abundant mud at the pier entrance. Still no lights at the pier in the evening.

Come enjoy beautiful Danzón dancing this Wednesday evening at 6PM in Plaza del Artista. An old Zihuatanejo tradition.

The pier at Playa Linda in Ixtapa, the one that should never have been built, remains unsafe to use and is closed. Authorities blame the waves, but the fact is they should never have changed the pier from Playa Quieta to Playa Linda. The one at Playa Quieta is usable even when the ocean is rough, something the one at Playa Linda has never been. Not to mention it was built in the mouth of an estuary that is home to crocodiles. One of the most poorly thought-out projects ever built here.

A tropical system is expected to develop within the next 2 or 3 days in front of Bahía de Tehuántepec. The storms that form there are usually the most dangerous for our part of the coast, so this is something to take seriously and to keep a close eye on.
