This Saturday is day 3 of an almost ceaseless rain. Thursday and Friday nights it got COLD! Had to put on a t-shirt and snuggle up under the sheet with my sweetie. It's been a light rain in most cases, sometimes a drizzle, sometimes letting up briefly. This Saturday evening the wind has started gusting strongly, and the rain seems to be coming down harder. Compared to what's about to happen to Colima, Jalisco and Nayarit, this is nothing. They're in for a very bad night with a Cat 4 hurricane slowly passing over their coast

The electricity went out for most people here in downtown Zihuatanejo for a couple of hours today. No word on the cause. If only we had real newspapers with real reporters instead of local government propaganda media.

And while the lights were out and it was raining, a Cabalgata of people riding horses passed by. Almost every single one of them had an alcoholic beverage in hand, and I felt bad for the horses since some of the riders weren't being careful. But one rider saved a damsel in distress when Margaret Reid was taking photos and stepped backwards into a pit of drainage water left open by CAPAZ on Cinco de Mayo. It looked like any other puddle except for the yellow warning tape around it. The rider jumped off his horse and quickly went to her rescue. She suffered some minor scrapes and bruises. The riders on Cinco de Mayo weren't being careful for the manhole covers with water gushing out of them. Hopefully none of the horses got hurt except for the beatings some of them took from mean riders. I still don't understand the reason or purpose behind this event. I love riding horses, but I hate to see them abused, and some of the riders were abusing theirs.

Rain is likely to continue through Saturday night and into Sunday, but we should see some sunshine soon.

When we started to complain about the rain we thought about those that are about to meet Simon. Our thoughts are with them.

No animals should be abused, horses, dogs, cats people It's just wrong.

PKS reopened today We planned to go in the morning to show support, but due to the rain, waited until early afternoon to buy our shrimp and clams. THEY WERE PACKED!!!!! Obviously they were missed, and we were able to purchase the best, fresh frozen on the boat shrimp at a wonderful price. SO glad they are back. For those of who cook, it is the best!!!

I'm sure missing the webcam at Rossy's. Also the high overhead of La Ropa is stuck on Sept 19th.

As it relates to rainfall so far this rainy season has it been good overall for recharging domestic water supply sources?

Here on la Ropa we have had 41.5 inches, over 105 cm. We should be in decent shape, especially if it keeps raining. The last several years we have had about 36 inches, 91 cm.

Agree with the weather station. Muchas gracias...not too windy at your place. I know where to go during a hurricane.
