Are there a variety of cooking classes offered throughout Zihua? I've heard of Cooking with Claudia. Any others?

Here you go ...
We strongly recommend Monica. Been to 3 of her classes and have sent many others there. She is very friendly and makes you feel comfortable. This is real Mexican cooking without a fancy kitchen. One of her classes takes you to the Mercado which is great for people new to Zihuatanejo.

I am also a fan of Monica. I have taken most of her classes and have enjoyed them all. Monica is a very sweet and talented lady. I use the class recipes quite often at home. I have repeated classes with visiting friends and family. My son is known at his college for great salsa and guacamole courtesy of Monica.
I may try a class this year from Claudia this year. I enjoy different teachers.

I did two classes with Monica and loved them! The class to the market is amazing, and I loved the stuffed chiles class! When I go back I will take classes with Monica again.
Had the best cup of coffee at Monica's too

Monica is a charming hostess in her cool and shady garden setting for her cooking school at Patio Mexica. Her English is great; she puts you right to work on the recipes, and she gives you a handout of the recipes. Her kitchen is very simple, nothing fancy, and the atmosphere is friendly. We made tortilla soup, enchiladas and chilaquiles in November - learning to make basic sauces and take them into various dishes. I recommend Monica.
