Las Gatas- Day five trip report
Grumpy guessed it when he said we must have spent the day at Las Gatas.
Wow.
Wow.
Wow.
That's a little slice of heaven right there.
We woke up a little later than usual. I couldn't sleep, kind of like tonight however tonight I'm not asleep because the power at home went out and the kids are a little freaked. We're texting. It's been reported, not much I can do. My nephew is with them but its not the same as mom, ya know?
Back to my current reality.......Had our coffee and a pastry and walked down to La Ropa. I wasn't quite sure how to get to Las Gatas but figured if I could see it, I could get there.
We found a nice young man who took us over and then picked us back up. I know we could have found a cheaper deal at the pier but time is money.
Kathy had told me they spent the day at Otilla's on Las Gatas the day before. She said Franco would treat us right. She was correct! We snorkeled and swam and lounged. And drank. A lot. Me especially. Piña coladas. Why are they so delicious here? Must be the grits of sand in my teeth. The chairs in the water are a beautiful thing. I really like Las Gatas and am so glad we decided to go.
Franco was cool. We ate the whole cooked red snapper. What a meal! Amazing. Of course we had guacamole too because its against nature to not have guacamole whenever possible.
Our boat ride arrived right back at 4:00 and they had to, once again, pry me out of the water and sand.
We decided that a snack at Rossy's would do the trick. No happy hour though. Boo. Food was delicious. We had guacamole (per usual), tortilla soup, fish tacos. Mike and Amy had calamari and quesadillas. Love the way Coca Cola tastes here. I drink it over the ice. No stomach issues.
We returned to Paty's for sunset and dos por uno. You guessed it, piña coladas. The sunset was stunning. We took a ton of photos. The kids setting up for dinner were very sweet, so young. These kids work hard. My kids need to work harder.
Post sunset we came back to the condo, listened to music, played Name that Tune, drank water
, and finally hit the hay. The kids text about the power woke me up.
This trip has been so beautiful from the company to the location to the people. Wonderful.
A note to my kids. Please make sure they see it if I decide to stay. Jajajaja!
