In addition to the local news articles on the subject that I posted several weeks ago (see Hopefully Justice), finally the cowardly killer and fugitive Frank Sheppard has made the news in Halifax, Nova Scotia where he allegedly has family and friends. I hope justice catches up to the coward SOON!

Not to mine, but then I'm familiar with the details of the matter and with the peculiarities of the Mexican system of injustice. This isn't the USA or Canada. Frank's a big boy and he actually thought Mexican cops would never solve the crime since around 90% of all homocides in Guerrero go unpunished.

Don't need to climb all over RGG because of his comments. He is well versed with this crime. Where do you think the criminals got the 30,000 pesos? This started to go sideways for Frank when the criminals wanted a lot more money. Prior to the criminals getting caught, Frank probably felt the heat and skipped out of town. Not what an innocent person would do, especially when he rents out part of his condo and had renters coming. You don't have all the facts, so don't be quick to judge RGG. We are still looking for Frank and I am sure he will tracked down.

I am sure he will be tracked down as well. Very hard for someone to disappear these days without a lot of advance planning. Only observation is that after years of following this board and reading endless complaints about the 'Mexican justice system' and 'lawless Guerrero', the fact that someone doesn't turn himself in to face this 'justice' is hardly proof of guilt, at least to me. A horrific crime, hopefully there will be a trial and closure for all those affected.

My 3 year old can answer your question. Public schools did you no good at all. It keeps the subject alive. It keeps people talking, looking and arguing Like YOU. It puts pressure on Frank Sheppard his neighbors, relatives, work associates and friends and public agencies. Even people who live on the street and only know him by looks. It helps to keep him pinned down and not moving. My 3 year old understands the "delete" button. You really need to get some schooling.

Opinion? I have no opinion on the matter. We're way past opinions. There are no doubts to quibble over. I want justice for Al and his family and all the local lives the coward fugitive killer ruined.

Because the sonofabitch ruined too many lives to be forgotten while he is still a fugitive. Our dear friend Don Daniel may be another victim of the cowardly killer's deed since emotionally he was deeply affected by what happened and it appears to have affected his health. I want Frank squirming and sweating, I want him as uncomfortable, nervous and fearful as a human can be, looking over his shoulder constantly, wondering if each day will be his last day free and able to see the blue sky and feel the sunshine and the breeze, because he doesn't deserve to waste any more oxygen as a free man. He doesn't deserve one moment of peace or joy. He doesn't deserve to smile or laugh or be comfortable. And if I've made him squirm just a tad more then I am content.

Rob, I totally agree with you!!! I have been traveling to Zihuatanejo every year since 1989. This is such a horrific crime and justice needs to be served immediately by the law enforcement. The majority of Zihua's residents are kind, religious, loving people. We don't want Zihua's reputation tarnished by the horrible crime of this sick, pathetic person and his accomplices!!!! Is it possible that Sheppard hired them to beat the crap out of the victim to teach him a lesson but it went too far and he died? At that point the four hoodlums needed to blame someone else to bargain for themselves, so they made up the story of Sheppard drawing his finger across his neck i.e. ordering the killing. Is it possible Sheppard wasn't there at all? Nobody on this board was there and knows what happened. This is why there should be trials before people are condemned as guilty of murder.

You're not thinking this through, and if there were the tiniest doubt then I would be the first to spout it. Frank fled after he knew it was over. Not once when he had the chance did he ever claim his innocence. I've read the confessions. They are gruesome reading. They were not made in a closed room where waterboarding and other torture techniques we've all come to know and claim as our own were practiced. They were made in front of a judge with a lawyer present.
