Seems like we are going to get a lot of water out of this one. Feels good.

Oh yes amiga. Another beautiful storm. The lightening, thunder and rain have all three been non-stop since around 2am. My fingers are crossed regarding road and other structure damage, as well as the hillsides and her people.

When there is this much rain good and bad go hand in hand. Let's just hope for more of the good.

As usual, the stupid canal overflowed again for the lack of a compuerta at the street drainage in front of the corner of Juan N. Álvarez and Benito Juárez. But even though we stopped up the door so water couldn't enter from the street, we found a new leak of water frothing up through the floor from the sewage connection where we installed a PVC tube to drain Lupita's A/C. So we just spent all morning bailing out the ground floor again, and as soon as it stops frothing up and it dries I'm going to pack it with silicone!
I just LOVE waking up like this!
But we sure slept well with the lovely sound of the rain most of the night!
This is from a couple of hours ago. We are smack dab in the middle!

Lots of water in the house, the canal is a raging torrent and the road on the other side is also full. Looks like I get to swim to my dental appointment, rather than walk there...

What a coincidence! I cancelled my dental appointment. I don't want to risk driving the flooded roads full of sharp rocks and missing manhole covers right now.

Rob, I have absolutely no idea about how your drainage system is installed/engineered. But I had a similar problem, i.e., back up overflow thru a sewer pipe, at my store in Red Lodge, MT. Had a device installed at the city sewer outlet point that had a flapper so when sewage/overflow, etc., tried to back up into my plumbing the flappper would close and seal the back up.
We used to call the W.C. in the store "Old Faithful" because everytime there was a back up the toilet spewed a column of water about 3 ft high--the flapper device fixed that.
Would love to be walking the beach in La Barra de Potosi during the tropical rain-a favorite event for me.

You would not have been out walking this storm. We had lightening out here the entire time it was raining. No school and it's still windy and cool. Looks like everyone is in 'clean-up' mode.
