call for recommendions on Oaxaca place to sty

We stayed at Las Golondrinas for a week a few years ago. Very nice garden sreas for reading and relaxing. They serve a good breakfast and it is within walking distance to town and transportation. Staff was super friendly.

Try Casa Colonial. Nice, clean, secure, within walking distance to the center of town. I've known Jane, the owner, forever.

Hotel Oaxaca Magico is a mostly unknown gem however it is but 3 blocks from the Zocalo. Best staff I've seen in years. Lots of amenities for a modest price.
Now if money is no object I'd stay at the Quinta Real. Finest chain in Mexico & one of the best in the world. Their philosophy is they do not know the word no when it comes to their guests wishes/desires.

Hotel Victoria is an older but really nice place to stay.
