We are in the process of booking our trip for March 2015, and are leaning towards Casa Don Francisco. Is there any pro and cons from the board on this property. Thanks in advance .
I'm not familiar with this property other than it's location. It would be a VERY long walk to town so you'd end up cabbing (or during the day bussing) a lot. We stay at Catalina and walk into town and back nearly every day. Coming from the south end of La Ropa would be too far for us.

Other than being at the far end of the beach, the place is dynamite and Francisco is a great host.

Go to tripadviser for you can get a general idea of the property and usually pictures. We use it all the time. It is better than it use to be. We used the site when looking at B&B's in England(3 B&B's 2 nights ea and a hotel for 6 nights). The hotel took a hit for their cheap rooms- we upgraded to get a free Continental Breakfast, free internet and free wine and beer at 5:30 pm everyday) the upgrade put you on the top 3 floors with a larger and better room with a better view of London and no noise from the train running behind the hotel.
We stayed there for 3 weeks a few years ago. The suites are lovely and well kept. We stayed in one of the suites with its own small pool and while it was nice to have we couldn't get into it at all during our three
weeks as it was very cold. There was one thing that was a deal breaker for me and it surprises me that it became as big an issue as it did. There were dogs barking all night long, every night. We had the windows closed and the air on and all you could hear were these dogs barking. If someone had told me that you could hear dogs barking I would have thought of it as a minor irritation but night after night after night it became a major irritation. We talked to Ericka (I think that was her name) and she said that other people complained but that there was nothing that could be done. I felt like an experiment in sleep deprivation and by the end of our stay decided that although it was very nice accommodation I would pass on a repeat visit.
