Some of what's at stake in Zihuatanejo Bay

I was going to add these photos to the favourite photo thread but I thought I would start a new thread to highlight some of the sea life that is at stake in Zihuatanejo Bay .

Many visitors never do know the extent and the varied richness of the bay's protected eco system and perhaps the City Fathers are also unaware of this huge asset to tourism that is barely utilized within the bay . All of these photos are between La Madera and Las Gatas and accessed on foot or swimming for FREE and without even exploring the north shore .

I may have posted some before but I have added some Youtube videos with the links below and a channel for snorkel videos for Zihua .

There are more videos accessed by the Juan Rojo icon and a few from elsewhere listed first by date. We went to Akumal last month for a snorkel vacation and I swam hard all day much as I do in Zihua and I saw plenty of fish and turtles there just as I do in Zihua .

I wrote a trip report some time ago for an Akumal message board about Zihua in which I acknowledge borrowing other peoples photos at times , Thanks if they were yours . If they weren't good ones I wouldn't have used them . I've been reluctant to post other peoples comments from another website but I hope the generalized information and photos are okay to post here .
