As I recall there are two 'main' bus stations-one nearer to Ixtapa and one nearer to the airport. Which should one use to get a primo clas or executivo clas bus to Patzcuaro (actually to Uruapan and then lcoal bus to Patzcuaro?)???

Now on a lighter note (I wish Robin W. was around to answer this): So, tell me, what is the difference between the dog poop which is pooped on the beach and the dog poop which is pooped on the streets/sidewalks/squatter town and then washed down to the beach or into the storm system or the canal, etc.?????? So if the dog poop which is pooped on the beach so bad for the bay and dogs are banned from the beach for this reason then does it not follow that all dogs should be banned in Z? Or the difference between the poop on the 'federa' beach or just over the line onto the provate beach?Just asking--

There is a Central de Autobuses across from the Pemex station. All the buses except Estrella de Oro operate from there. Estrella de Oro has its own bus station a block or so away. In Ixtapa I believe Parhikuni has a small office across from the movie theater.

Supposedly you can also buy bus tickets at any of the local Oxxo stores, but I've heard of some problems due to schedule changes and differences.

Your other question doesn't have a logical answer. The entire matter is a whim by politicians as an excuse to obtain money budgeted for the "playa certificada" program from which the unscrupulous bastards can siphon off a nice chunk. The "responsible authorities" obviously don't really give a shit about the beaches or our wastewater treatment plants would never have been allowed to deteriorate to their current condition. In a little over a year they'll all be gone and hoping to have other jobs higher up the political food chain.

Autovias also runs out of the Ixtapa bus depot and there is another bus depot in Ixtapa beside beer brothers so I think most buses are covered in Ixtapa as well.

As I responded to Fran....I did buy my ticket from Morelia to Zihua at an Oxxo store. Easy and the guy got right on line just like they do at the bus station and I got to pick my seat and time and bus line.

Yes, Parthikuni has a small place that was mentioned in Ixtapa.

Were I going to buy a ticket in Zihua I would certainly go to the bus station, but in Morelia the station is not as easy. I did fine with OXXO.

"doesn't have a logical answer"==exactly the point! What they are doing defies logic.

Except in the rainy season the poop will rot where it drops. I am
not in Zihua during the rainy season.
