The fishermen's area on the downtown beach has a timeless quality to it. Years come and go but this area has remained mostly just like it is with only minor changes. It is a defining and iconic characteristic of Zihuatanejo. It reassures us and reminds us of Zihuatanejo's humble roots. Here is a shot taken in the late afternoon just before dark after many fishermen have just left to head out to the sea mounts just offshore for their evening's labor, hopefully to return at dawn with enough catch to allow them to make ends meet for their families.

Thanks Rob. This will be my new desktop background! Then I can see it everyday until we are there in person in February. Hopefully, anyway. We have hotel reservations but no flights yet as United is not showing any availability on Feb. 9 or Feb. 18 out of Chicago via Houston. Hope their winter schedule isn't fully up yet !

I like the desktop background idea, but can't choose between the beach/fishing boats or the nuclear explosion. But once I do choose, how do I turn it into my desktop background?

Right click on (any) photo and one of the options is set as desktop background.:vacation:

First you have to save the image to your computer, THEN you can do the old right-click and set as desktop background. :dude:

First, because it sounded easier, I tried Tess' (aka "Tess the Computer Literate";) suggestion....and it worked! But I still can't decide which background is the best. Think I'll toggle between the two.

Did you try one of the discount sites. It's hard to find a flight through Houston on United because of the small planes they are using. We are having to fly through MC on United from Houston and flying the prop into "Z" at 8:30 pm 9 Jan 2014. Aero Mexico has some good connections from Chicago and their prices varies except you will go through MC.
