Tropical Storm Marie
The disturbance churning off Mexico's coast to our south developed into a Tropical Storm named "Marie" around midnight last night. It is expected to cause some heavy rains and winds as well as high surf along our coast even though it is currently tracking west-northwest at 18 knots (20.7 mph or 33.3 kph) and not expected to make landfall along the coast of Guerrero. It is expected to reach hurricane strength sometime today around 11PM PDT or 9PM local time. Folks with property fronting the open ocean should take precautions and be prepared for the possibility of high surf and winds.
BE SAFE!
