Guerrero has a new Governor

The former secretary-general of the Universidad Autónoma de Guerrero (UAG) Dr. Rogelio Ortega Martínez was nominated and approved by Guerrero's state legislature to assume the job of Interim Governor for the remaining year of former Governor Aguirre's unfinished term. He appears to be the right man for the job. A highly qualified academic and Doctor of Political Sciences and Sociology, Governor Ortega was born in Taxco and studied in Madrid and Chilpancingo. He is a staunch leftist who once belonged to the Partido Comunista as well as the PRD, and he is known for his ability to carry out successful dialogue among widely differing parties. He is expected to protect the rights of demonstrators while also seeking to reestablish the rule of respectful law and order in our state. He has already made a respectful plea to the president for federal assistance. I wish him and his wife the best of luck with their near impossible task of bringing Guerrero back together and putting us on the road to justice and prosperity.
