Trattoria Gianni La Ropa

Just saw what we think is a brand new place, Trattoria Gianni on La Ropa. It's just south of the delfines on the other side of the street on the curve.
There was a nice, commercially done sign, and a hand made sign, very nice also, saying "Lasagna and tirramisu to go"

Anyone know anything?????

The "lasagna to go" part sounds good to me!

Been a while since the original post. But here goes, this is the best Italian in Zihua. Small pasta dishes followed by main course. All of it was good. Eaten here 3 times. With the road the way it is, perfect. Oh yeah on the way out ask for the home made limoncello, each time it was gratis. Eating there again tonight. With gordo and Gianni I may never go downtown again

No main course pasta dishes? Some idea re prices? Main courses large enough to split between two seniors?

The salads are huge. We found that we can split a salad, an appetizer and a pasta dish and it's just about right. Instead of dessert, we have limoncello. Prices are very reasonable. You can bring your own wine, but there is a 100 peso corkage fee. The house red, at 80 pesos a half liter, is drinkable.

We've eaten there once a week for the past four weeks. All of the pastas have been great and we liked the pork chop too. And salads. So far been too full to try the tiramisu

This restaurant is excellent. Great pastas, lasagna, meatloaf ,fresh bread and gorgeous courtyard with nice soft music. We have been here several times. The prices are very reasonable and the servers are very hospitable. You probably need to make a reservation As he gets quite busy.

We surprised them with an unreserved party of 8 tonight. Enough to bring many restaurants to their knees. They barely blinked. They figured out a table, seated us and proceeded to serve us am amazing dinner. Tuna Carpaccio to die for, a very tasty Gorgonzola/spinach house sale, spaghetti carbonara for me, egg plant Parmesan for my wife, followed by profiteroles, coffee and limoncello, with two carafes of wine. Great food, super service, a lovely setting, and believe it or not a price point for all of the above of less than $50. They' ve only been open a couple of months and deserve your business. You will not be disappointed.

Tuna Carpaccio?
NOW I know we have to eat there when we're down in Zihua!
