New Year, Same Old Z
Looking around after all the excitement and hoopla has faded from the tens of thousands of revelling vacationers I see the same old Zihuatanejo my wife and I are in love with. The same colorful sunrises, the same scenes of folks contemplating the beauty of the bay while others get their morning exercise, the same fishermen seeking their sustenance the same old way they have for generations (albeit the one in the photo with the boat "El Madrugador" just had his motor stolen by some nice person). Timeless, tranquil and colorful scenes that are part of our everyday life for the residents of Zihuatanejo.
I just missed the best part of this morning's deep red sunrise, but the part that I did catch wasn't too bad.

A little while later while out for our morning stroll, my wife and I came upon this scene that frankly reminded us of Lupita in her youth, back when she was the only person to be seen most mornings running the beaches of Zihuatanejo.

Obviously this fisherman was onto something, and all the pelicans knew it.
