Without having a clue what it the pink tree you are asking about looks like, here's my favorite pink tree:
Pseudobombax ellipticum, Bombax ellipticum Common name, shaving brush tree.
The white form is very common, covering the hills in large parts of central Mexico, and around here.
The pink form isn't uncommon, is very flashy, and this time of year in Uruapan, for example, is in massive bloom everywhere, because it's used as an ornamental street tree.

I am not sure if you mean the the trees with the pink flowers? If so i believe they are called Roble in Spanish pronounced Ro-blay. The wild ones flower earlier than the domestic ones planted in various boulevards around comer and the salinas.
