Bringing Wine from US to Zihuatanejo

by Dione @, Chicago, IL, Tuesday, January 27, 2015, 19:57 (4301 days ago)

One of our friends asked what the rules are for bringing alcohol in from the US to Zihua. They want to bring a few bottles of wine on a trip. I could not find any information about limits and taxes. Does anyone know?

If you bring more can you just pay a tax? Where do you find this information? I searched and searched and could not find anything.

If that is per person than that will not be a problem.

We use to bring a 5 liter box of wine with us every year. One time the red light stopped us and our luggage was checked- they let us go through with no problem.

Try Mexican Wine

Last year when in Zi we attended a wine tasting and had some very nice red and white Mexican wines. I know it's all in personal taste, but try them, you might like them!

I had a feeling this post would go in this direction after I posted. My friends just want to bring a few bottles of wine for a special dinner in May. We have had some amazing bottles of wine in Mexico and will continue to consume them. My post was just asking what can you bring in legally.

The posts are awesome.. My favorite was from frostbite.. Swimming?
