Trip ReportDay 1 & 2
We were book to fly YVR toLAX for early evening arrival and the fly out to Zihua at 9:45 am on Alaska........Emailed the condo manger and explained we would be a day late ........Air Canada put us up in a hotel and everything was uneventful in LA...........When we checked in at the airport for the fly I was able to use my Alaska points to upgrade Mrs Grumpy to 1st Class.....it is her birthday trip so why not use if we can........the agent put me in an exit row and the plane was just over half full....... I had the row to myself.......... We landed in Zihua around 3.00 pm and noticed that there wasn't the usual 2 or 3 planes on the ground........maybe it would be a quick zip thru customs........ The front door of the plane opened and I stood up waiting to walk out in the sun and feel the heat.........a couple minutes later while still waiting in the plane the warm humid air replace filled the plane...... They opened the rear doors as well and when I exited I stopped at the the top of the stairs took a deep breath......felt the sun on my face........felt like coming home........met Mrs Grumpy inside the building.........no line up and got to the baggage just as it was being unloaded..........mental note travel on Mondays ..........pushed green for go and off on vacation.........ATM didn't work for me inside the Airport but no worries we were stopping at Commercial and I had some cash to get me there.......walked thru the arrival door and across the parking lot down the road to Andys and we were going to catch a taxi from there........got a cool drink and wasn't long before we were able to get a ride.......grabbed a few essentials at Commercial and the ATM worked just fine there.........not sure who suggest the odd withdrawal amount of 4950 but worked like a charm........got some small bills and paid for the groceries in large bill and they even gave me change ........got to the condo in Madera and was exactly as the pictures that Carmen the manager had sent..........we unpacked and soaked in the familiar view of the bay and I assumed my position in the hammock........we were both a bit tired from the last couple days and decided to eat in and have an early night..........quesadillas ,Victoria , hammock, waves crashing on Madera beach, Mrs Grumpy, life is good today..........
