Pacifica Grande New Units - Status?

Say, Rob, on our "walkabouts" in Zihua, can you use your excellent photographic skills, and take a few pix of the expansion going on at Pacifica Grande? When we left in March, they were excavating for the foundation of the 9 one bedroom units. Please find time to post the work going on and what it looks like if you have time. Putting many folks to work is a good thing for the Zihua economy. Thanks...

Thank you for the kind words, but you'll have to forgive me for not being enthusiastic about an expansion of a time-share complex in Zihuatanejo where the great majority of old-family locals find such development abhorrent and against everything we hoped Zihuatanejo would be. Time-share belongs in Ixtapa, the place that was built to accommodate such developments. Zihuatanejo's ecosystem is too fragile and already stressed and threatened by unplanned unsustainable growth coupled with a failed infrastructure.

Things are so bad and our current elected officials are so incompetent that the interim mayor, who is holding down the fort while the elected mayor runs for Diputado Federal, wants to forego fixing our wastewater treatment plants and instead construct pipes to take the sewage outside the bay into the open ocean. Madness! And everyone is telling him so (but he doesn't care, this is the same guy proud to have placed a machine-gun toting statue on our pier). We do not need one more construction of any kind in Zihuatanejo. What Zihuatanejo needs is to institute a BUILDING MORATORIUM until we can put our house in order, which includes removing thousands of homes from our hillsides where they should never have been allowed to be built in the first place.

So please excuse me if I state frankly that I would rather contract chikungunya than photograph any time-share development in Zihuatanejo.
