Beating Z Heat
Getting things done EARLY is the key to getting through the month of May which typically has the hottest temperatures of the year as well as the added discomfort of all the smoke from the burning of tlacololes across the region in anticipation of planting corn for the rainy season. There have been some spotty rains for the past week or so, but so far no good soaker rains. We thought it had rained last night since we could hear the sound of tires on the wet pavement during the night while we slept, but it turned out our neighbors across the street simply had a major leak from their tinaco that had spilled out into the street. Bummer.
Here you can see a fishing panga arriving to the beach at full speed upsetting the pelicans and agitating the frigate birds who were looking for some leftovers while a hint of red tints the sky through a hole in the clouds.

And here's a wider angle shot taken from the pier (yepper, it's still standing) the same morning.
