Zihuatanejo and surrounding area safety

Some of the reports on this site sound worse than they are. Most all are Late Late at night or early AM incidents that involve bad guy against bad guy. Town is fine, be home by 2400. Do not drive at night. Petatlan had some problems a couple of months ago, but again that was bad guys against bad guys. Troncones looks to be fine. Many locals and tourists go there on a regular basis. No problems. Taxis are all good. Combis are all good. Beaches are all good. Stores are good. Some streets are not so good Life is good.
