Yes. Fortunately for us we still have 4 years left on our Zihuatanejo license. When they expire, unless things change, we will have to be citizens. IF we were to visit any other country and rent a car, we'd need a valid drivers license.

Isn't there an International Driver's License? Let me check ... there is!

International Driver's Permit

Hmmm. Some sites say that you still need a driver's license from your country of citizenship. Some others say that your driver's license from your country of citizenship is not valid and you need the International Driver's License. Ah, we need a Subject Matter Expert.
