Wednesday morning was absolutely beautiful. Refreshing and without any noticeable smoke in the air. Also without any tourists visible. The breeze continued throughout the day. So did the absence of tourists. I thought all the new colorful cement was supposed to attract tourists. It's not working so far after all these years. Maybe we should try less cement, more trees, and real efforts at promotion in the USA and Canada. But who am I to say?

Still no rain in the forecast, and the third tropical wave of the season petered out over the Istmo de Tehuantepec. There could be some scattered rains in the sierra nearby this weekend, but I don't see any forecasts or models showing it raining here anytime soon. Bummer. The farmers are hurting and the rivers are running dry.

In case you were wondering if that was gunfire in La Noria last night, yes it was, and a man was murdered walking along the road near the sitio de taxis. Too bad there are no security cameras there (or really anywhere).

The water in the bay is about as clear as it gets, and waves from the ongoing the mar de fondo effect don't really seem all that big. The water temp is between 27°C and 28°C.

Saw some fishermen bringing in quite a few tuna this evening. How fortunate we are to have so many varieties of delicious fresh fish so readily available.

And this Saturday is the XL Triatlón Internacional de Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo. The roads will close around 5:30 or so in the morning so you may have to sneak through the backstreets of the residential area to get anywhere.

Mi amigo Ezequiel es un buen pescador, y durante la noche y madrugada sacó una buena cantidad de huachinango. Lástima que hubo muy poca gente comprando y le sobró muchos pescados.
