It looks like we're going to have politicians instead of judges, dominated by the political party in power who is currently acting like a dictatorship with the way this Constitutional Reform was passed, and Mexico's justice system is going to fall further into the abyss of injustice and corruption.

However judges get on the bench, it can be a mixed bag of corruption. Elected judges will be more responsive to the public but their decisions can be more political. Appointed judges can disregard political pressure but are too often deep in the pockets of special interests. One only has to look at the US Supreme Court to see how bad that can be. I don't know which avenue is worse.
