Our perfect weather continues. From dusk to dawn to dusk. Refreshing evenings and early mornings, warm sunny days, light breezes, spectacular sunsets, spectacular sunrises. Day after day. There's no place my beloved and I would rather be. Aren't we lucky!

So far this Thursday evening I've only heard one single skyrocket, what we call a cuete. It was another extremely loud one, but only one, so maybe the police are enforcing the mayor's wishes now. Hope so.

Speaking of police, we've seen both the Guardia Nacional and the Marina patrolling on foot downtown. While this might make some of our visitors from other countries nervous, it is extremely reassuring for locals. I hope we see more of this as the Guardia Nacional continues growing. A shame we can't seem to get our municipal government to professionalize and improve our municipal police force.

If you're anywhere in Mexico or even a community of Mexicans abroad, you may be hearing cheers of ¡GOOOOOOOOOL! tonight as two of Mexico's favorite soccer teams meet in the first match of their semifinal. Last night it was San Luis vs Monterrey. This Thursday it's América vs Cruz Azul.

I continue falling in love with my saint of a wife every single day. She's had this effect on me since way before we were married. I may simply be love-struck and crazy, or maybe it's something in the water, but I feel like the luckiest Gringo in Mexico!
