There have been several more earthquakes in the region since Thursday afternoon. I felt one of the stronger ones located in Lázaro Cárdenas late Thursday, but there appears to be a swarm occurring in front of the coast of Petatlán. For those of you in the region, stay alert, have your important documents ready to run outside with, and I recommend installing the SkyAlert app if you haven't already. It can give us a helpful warning, even if it's only a few seconds when they occur nearby.

We had very cool Thursday morning. I think it got down to around 19°C. Some forecasts call for the cool mornings to continue while others suggest a slight warming up. I expect the cool mornings to continue as they usually do at this time of year. Might even need to keep a blanket handy. :-o

Lots of buses arrived to Zihuatanejo today, and several of our beaches were crowded since early this morning. It's good to see our weekend trippers. While they don't represent sustainable tourism, many local businesses depend on them. After Semana Santa we'll see one of our slowest periods of the year until school vacation starts in the middle of July, so the weekend visitors will be the main source of income for a lot of people in our region.

Don't miss the Eco-Tianguis "Sanka" across the street from the Museo Arqueológico de la Costa Grande from 9 A.M. to 1:30 P.M. this Saturday morning.

[image]Centrally located and very affordable, Condo Serenidad #2 is a 1-bedroom condo overlooking Playa La Madera in Zihuatanejo that offers many comforts to make you feel at home on your vacation. It enjoys an extremely lovely view of the beach and bay, and with the large picture window open, it has a very open-air feel and receives refreshing breezes through the palm trees in front. This vacation rental condo has a full kitchen, Wi-fi, A/C, and cable TV as well as a pool on the property and 24-hour security. Easy walking distance to many restaurants as well as downtown shopping.

You're going to need to learn some basic Spanish, querida Maggie. WordReference is a great resource.

Gracias Rob
And you are absolutely right. I’m chagrined at my lack of fluency
… I now have Babbel and am learning but simply don’t get a chance to speak Spanish
Yet there really is no excuse. Negligence on my part…
Tho’ I have been having wonderful conversations with people via our phone translator apps. I know the app provides a disincentive to learn however It truly has broken down the language barrier.
One of the few things I appreciate about this tech reality in which we are forced to live.

I did manage to sign up for sky alert. In Spanish…
Hopefully If there is an earthquake the alarm will flash red and be loud…
Unmistakable in any language.
Thank you again and now I’m off to my Spanish lesson!
Oh btw remind me of the name and location of your family’s store please.
I’ll come by and torture you with my Spanish.
My husband always told me wherever we travelled that I made up for my lack of fluency with sheer enthusiasm.
You’ve been warned!
