The mar de fondo appears to have disappeared entirely, and this Monday morning Zihuatanejo's bay was as calm as glass. While the nights aren't as cool as they have been, a fan on medium does the trick. I even thought about pulling the sheet over me during the wee hours before daybreak. But daytime is another story. While there was a light breeze, it was still blowing hot air. And the water in the tinacos now runs warm, no water heater necessary.

There was some smoke in the air overnight, and the full moon rose bright red this Monday evening. All up and down the waterfront folks were ooing and awwing and trying to take photos that were ruined by the too-bright lights all up and down the beach.

Hardly anyone was at the beach today, and visitors were few and far between downtown. Few shops or restaurants did any business, and many restaurants close on Mondays anyway. Some businesses take advantage of this slow time to do maintenance or to remodel, and lots of us try to prepare for the rainy season that's about to begin. Locals get to spend more time seeing their friends and family members. It's always nice to have the place to ourselves, even if only for a short while.
