Paradise. Day 2 Trip report

I apologize in advance for the length of this update. While it seems we did very little during the day, the details are fresh in my mind.

Before I start: can anyone here help me with the process of calling Acapulco via cell? Our friend that is here with us teaches snowboarding in Utah and taught this kid about 3 weeks ago who lives in Acapulco how to board. They exchanged cell numbers but we cannot figure out how to call from our cell. Any help would be greatly appreciated. They want to hook up with him for a day of surfing.

We woke up fairly late for us and had no coffee. I drink decaf but missed my morning vacation ritual of holding the mug and sitting on the verandah while everyone gets ready. I did find tea and Jagermeister.

Our condo is very well stocked and I want to buy one and live here. The End. Really. People are living right here in Zihua and I think we've got a new goal.

Everyone slept quite nicely. The beds here are extremely comfortable and no need for AC. It feels so good to be WARM. After packing our towels and colapsable Trader Joe's cooler, it was beach time. I couldn't wait to get my feet back into the soft Zihua sand. It's a darker sand but don't be fooled, it's very soft.

We headed down to the beach and like everyone here said, finding chairs and a place to plop down for the day was a breeze. It was 9:30 by this time and the beach was just starting to wake up.

We decided on breakfast at Elvira's and to use their loungers for the day. Made sense as we were eating there and wouldn't have to start a tab elsewhere. Arturo was our server and can I tell you what a sweet guy he is. We chatted with him through the day and come to find out he has a 12 y/o daughter. Most of the clothes I brought for donation seem to be his daughters size so I will be bringing him to those this morning when we head back down to La Ropa. I don't know the language all that well, enough to get by, but I do know body language and he seemed happy for the offer. Please someone, correct me if I am wrong as I don't want to insult him.

Is it possible to make a bad meal on La Ropa because breakfast was delicious! Cafe, chilaquiles, huevos rancheros por los hombres, and eggs with sausage para mi amiga. My Spanglish is in full swing. Like riding a bike. Para/por, they always confuse me.

The day was spent between the water, walks on the beach, swimming, and lounging. Perfect. Piña coladas. Pacificos. We met and chatted with various other visitors from all over. Friendly. Such a great vibe. I met a nice young fella on a paddle board who gave me a free lesson. Knees good, standing up? Not so much. Hoping to see Talley Ho and give his board a try. SUP is harder than it looks. Could have been the piña colada(s), who knows.

Tonight we had our sunset cruise with Julio planned with Jeff and Kathy who we met through this board. Thanks Rob for facilitating another fun friendship.

We were set to meet Julio on the pier at 4:30. Jeff and Kathy were right there as was Carol! Oh my gosh, what a sweet woman. Thank you Carol for taking the time to come down and for the lovely picnic full of treats. The starfish fruit were perfect. The nuts and candy corn were a great mix and cheese and crackers always hit th spot. Lovely woman, wonderful. Friendly. Have I mentioned that we've met just the nicest folks?

I'm going back to sleep, I'll post the rest of the cruise later tonight........cliffhanger!
