Playa Principal CLOSED

There have been numerous articles over the years that never budged the stubborn local authorities to ever do "the right thing" before, so I doubt an article in English made any difference. I suspect it was more like an order from the federal government, likely using the old carrot and the stick approach: "Do this and look like you actually care or we'll do it for you and burn you in the process."

What SHOULD have mattered most since testing began is the health and safety of our residents and visitors, but unfortunately since the very first bacteriological test when Amador Campos was mayor around 12 years ago, the Playa Principal has failed all the safety tests. Each and every one! The first time it failed the test the then mayor Amador Campos personally removed the warning signs placed on Playa Principal by the federal government (he is currently one of our Diputados Federales in Mexico's Congreso - AMAZING). He did so with several other members of the then municipal government, claiming it was a conspiracy to tarnish his image. What an ego!
